Sabah state election dates announced

The Election Commission has set the dates for the Sabah state election.
Nomination day will take place on September 12th, while polling day falls on September 26th.
Meanwhile there will be no postal voting for the upcoming election.
The EC's deputy chairman Dr Amzi Sharom says there isn't enough time to make the necessary preparations.
He also says that the election will go on as planned unless the Kota Kinabalu High Court says otherwise.
The court will rule this Friday, on whether the judiciary is authorised to reivew the Sabah governor's consent to dissolve the state assembly.
Malaysia reports 12 more COVID-19 cases
Malaysia reported 12 new COVID-19 cases today, while 17 patients made full recoveries.
Of the new cases, 10 are local transmissions, in Kedah, Penang and Selangor.
This brings the number of active infections to 211.
The death toll remains unchanged at 125.
Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah now a Tan Sri
The Yang diPertuan Agong has awarded the Health Director General the title of Tan Sri.
Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah was among 11 other recipients of the Darjah Panglima Setia Mahkota title earlier today.
He says that the award isn't just for him alone, but for all Health Ministry front-liners as well.
