The WHO has issued new guidelines on the use of face masks by children, to combat the spread of COVID-19.
It says children over the age of 12, should wear masks under the same conditions as adults, as studies have shown that teenagers can spread the coronavirus as easily as adults.
Meanwhile the WHO says children aged five years and under should not be required to wear masks, based on the safety and overall interest of the child.

The govt has been urged to extend the Recovery MCO, which is due to end on August 31st.
The Msian Medical Association told The Star, RMCO restrictions should remain in place of a while longer as the country is still not out of the woods.
This is due to the emergence of new COVID-19 clusters, while there are still many cases of SOP non-compliance.
The Medical Practitioners Coalition Association of Malaysia also wants the RMCO to be extended, with stricter enforcement.
This is because people are not taking SOPs seriously enough.
