Visitors from three countries banned from entering Malaysia

Sep 01, 2020

All long term pass holders from India, Indonesia and the Philippines will be barred from entering Malaysia due to a surge in COVID-19 cases in these countries.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says the new ruling will affect permanent residents, expatriates, those involved in the Malaysia My Second Home program, spousal visa holders, and foreign students.

It will come into effect starting September 7th.

Malaysians becoming complacent amid RMCO

Too many Malaysians are no longer following SOPS under the Recovery MCO.

This as almost 780 people were arrested yesterday for flouting several RMCO rules.

The Defence Minister says 670 of them were issued compounds, the highest since the RMCO started.

Most of them were nabbed at nightclub and pub activities.

As such, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says harsher action needs to be taken, following the high number of arrests.
