Malaysia reports 182 new COVID-19 cases, highest tally since RMCO enforced

Sep 11, 2020

Malaysia recorded its highest number of COVID-19 cases since the start of the recovery MCO, with 182 new infections.

Over 160 of them were from the Benteng Cluster in Sabah, while Kedah's Tegala and Sungai Clusters reported 14.

This raises the number of active infections to 501.

No new fatalities were reported, meaning the death toll still stands at 128.

Decision to fully open Malaysia-Singapore border depends on country post-RMCO

The border between Malaysia and Singapore could be fully opened by January next year, at the earliest.

However, the Health Minister says this all depends on how well we do during the Recovery MCO which is set to end in December.

As such, he says the priority for now is to contain Malaysia's COVID-19 outbreak.

PN, BN, and PBS agree not to contest against each other in Sabah polls

Perikatan Nasional, BN and Parti Bersatu Sabah, PBS have reached a consensus to avoid fielding candidates against one another for the upcoming Sabah state election.

BN Chief Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says all parties have agreed to unite, and face the polls together.

This, after the party's leaders attended a closed-door meeting chaired by PM and Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
