Over 760 arrested yesterday for flouting RMCO rules

A lot of people are still visiting nightclubs and pubs, even though they're not allowed to operate during the Recovery MCO. 

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says over 600 people were arrested yesterday for being at such premises. 

They were among 760 people who were detained flouting RMCO rules yesterday. 

Malaysia reports 31 new COVID-19 cases

31 new COVID-19 cases were reported today, raising the number of active infections to 615. 

25 were detected in Sabah, 17 of which are from the Benteng Cluster in Lahad Datu. 

Meanwhile Kedah reported just one new case. 

The death toll still stands at 128. 

Government to set up task force to tackle environmental crimes after recent river pollution

The government is set to form a new special task force  to combat against environmental crimes.

The Environment and Water Minister says the unit is necessary due to pollution cases affecting the country's water reserves. 

This follows the recent pollution of Sungai Gong in Selangor resulting in water cuts throughout the Klang Valley earlier this month.

Meanwhile the minister says the investigation paper on the Sungai Gong pollution has been sent to the Attorney General's Chambers.
