Another COVID-19 cluster in Sabah

The number of active COVID-19 cases has risen to 674, after 21 new cases were reported today. 

16 of them were local tranmissions. 

Meanwhile the Health Ministry has detected a new cluster in Semporna, Sabah called the Selamat Cluster. 

The death toll remains at 128. 

Syed Saddiq submits application for new party, MUDA

Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman has applied to register a new political party known as the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance or MUDA.

He says despite the name and his earlier statements, Muda will be open to all ages. 

Last month, Syed Saddiq announced he will be forming a youth-based party, after declining to join Tun Dr Mahathir Mohd's new party, Pejuang. 

More people ignoring COVID-19 SOPs during public holiday

Many Malaysians seem to ignore COVID-19 SOPs especially over the weekend or during a public holiday.

This, as over 580 people were detainted during yesterday's Malaysia Day holiday, for flouting SOPs under the Recovery MCO. 

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says around half of them were nabbed at pubs and nightclubs.
