Sabah CM decision expected today!

Sep 28, 2020

The Sabah Governor is expected to make his decision today on who will be the next Chief Minister of the state!

The Governor had asked for time to decide, as the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah is deadlocked over their chief minister candidate.

Perikatan Nasional has insisted on its Sabah chief, Datuk Hajiji Mohd Noor, while BN has argued that it should be Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin who led the coalition there.

GRS coalition has claimed victory in the state's election, after winning 38, of the 73 seats being contested.

KKM tambah kakitangan uruskan saringan pengembara Sabah di KLIA - Noor Hisham

The Health Ministry has acknowledged crowding issues at KLIA  and KLIA 2, after it started implementing new testing rules that led to packed corridors.

It has since deployed more personnel to the airports to help out with Covid-19 screening as travellers from Sabah to the Peninsular are now required to get screened upon arrival.

This follows complaints from passengers that they had to wait along packed corridors for hours before getting tested.

There were also concerns of a possible virus cluster emerging from the screening process.

More than 500 people have been arrested for violating recovery MCO rules, with more than half of them picked up for taking part in nightclubs activities.

The Defence Ministry says most were issued fines and 40 were remanded.

Other offences included not recording the particulars of guests, failing to wear face masks, participating in activities that made physical distancing difficult while the rest were illegal immigrants.
