COVID-19 death toll rises to 136

Sep 30, 2020

Malaysia reported 89 new COVID-19 cases today, raising the number of active infections to 1,124.

This includes 35 new patients in Sabah, and ten in Selangor.

Meanwhile the Health Ministry has detected a new cluster in Kedah.

The death toll has risen to 136, after two patients succumbed to the virus.

Kota Kinabalu could be placed under TEMCO

The government has yet to decide whether to enforce a Targeted Enhanced MCO in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin, says it will depend on the current situation in the state capital.

Sabah currently has four districts under TEMCO namely Tawau, Lahad Datu, Kunak and Semporna.

National Security Council debunks super-spreader COVID-19 cluster claim

Malaysia is not expected to face a wave of clusters of super-spreading COVID-19

The National Security Council says a viral claim, urging people to prepare for such wave, is not true.

They've also dismissed claims alleging children and the elderly are barred from going to eateries and shopping malls because of the super-spreading virus.
