Schools in Selangor and Sabah Red Zone areas closed

COVID-19: Senarai sekolah ditutup di daerah Klang | Astro Awani

The Education Ministry says schools in Klang, Selangor, and Sandakan, Papar and Tuaran in Sabah will be closed for 16 days until October 23rd.

The closure will affect 384 schools, including primary and secondary schools, both public and private.

Schools which are supposed to be conducting SPM trial exams during this period could schedule it for a later date.

Two new Covid-19 clusters have been identified in Selangor, Perak and Penang.

The first cluster, dubbed as 'Bah Puchong', houses patients under investigation from Petaling,
Selangor and Larut, Matang, Selama and Kinta in Perak.

Meanwhile, the index case of the second cluster, named 'Penjara Reman' in Penang, involved
an inmate who was tested positive after his death on Monday.

This comes after we reported 489 cases yesterday, raising the number of active cases to 3,351.

Water supply has now returned to some 92% of areas in the Klang Valley!

Air Selangor says only 23 more areas are still in the recovery process.

Over 300 thousand consumers were left with dry taps since Sunday, after the operation of two
water treatment plants in Selangor were stopped due to contamination.
