Perak rules out EMCO for Taiping detention centre

There are NO plans yet to enforce an Enhanced MCO at a detention centre in Taiping, Perak.

State authorities say this is because the infection only involved one block at the centre.

Meanwhile, Taiping is now a COVID-19 redzone, following a high number of infections.

The State Health Dept says almost 80 cases have been detected in the district in the last two weeks.

Meanwhile, a Conditional MCO is set to be placed in Kampung Pasang Che Mas in Baling, Kedah due to a rise in COVID-19 infections.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob says it will come into effect this Sunday until October 31st.
