The EPF has announced details of its i-Sinar scheme, that will allow eligible contributors to withdraw an advance of up to 10 percent of savings in their Account 1.
Its open to members who’ve lost their jobs, are on no-pay leave, or have no source of income.
The facility is open for application next month, with the cash advance to be credited in stages from January.
The EPF also clarified that whatever amount is taken out, will have to be replaced in full from future contributions.
CMCO is working
The Health Director-General does not think the CMCO has been a failure, despite the recent rise in Covid-19 cases in the Klang Valley.

Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says this is because a lot of cases there are confined to construction worker clusters.
“Looking at the Klang Valley…its not in the community yet, but its basically among the construction site workers. So far the active case detection and screening continues to be done. Hopefully we will contain the infection among the construction workers as soon as possible”
Dr Hisham also pointed out that the infectivity rate of the coronavirus has been on the decline since the CMCO was implemented.
Meanwhile...
The Senior Minister for Security says the government is considering the possibility of implementing compulsory Covid-19 screening for migrant workers from other industries, besides construction workers and security guards.
Separately, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob also says the government is thinking about allowing teachers from the Peninsular who are working in Sabah and Sarawak or vice-versa to return to their hometowns, now that face-to-face school sessions will only resume next year.
