Health DG: Don't 'balik kampung'!
Nov 24, 2020
Malaysians have been advised not to return to their hometowns, as Covid-19 cases continue to rise towards the end of the year.
“This is because you can carry the infection from the red to the green zone,”
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah says the Ministry will be coming up with guidelines to protect states and districts that are green zones.
This comes as we reported 1,884 new Covid-19 infections yesterday, a new record high in daily cases.
The spike was largely contributed by the Teratai cluster which involves workers from factories in Klang, Selangor.
Starting today, business premises including restaurants, petrol stations and convenience stores in CMCO areas will be allowed to operate until midnight.
However, Sabah will not immediately allow for certain businesses to operate beyond 10pm.
Flood victims evacuated to relief centres will be screened for Covid-19, if they are symptomatic or are close contacts of a positive case.
The Health Ministry says it has also come up with guidelines for evacuees to prevent the spread of the virus, while staying at relief centres.
