More recovered patients than new COVID-19 cases

The number of recovered COVID-19 patients today has exceeded the number of new infections.

1,750 patients were released from hospital compared to 1,012 new cases.

Selangor recorded the highest tally with 417 infections, followed by 271 in Sabah and Johor 108.

Meanwhile, four more people have died due to the virus, raising the death toll to 388.

Black or white?

School kids will get to choose to wear either black or white shoes to school next year.

The Education Ministry says the accompanying socks must match the chosen colour.

It adds that the shoes must be made of canvas or other synthetic materials including polyester and nylon.

Federal Court dismisses bid for retrial in Altatunya murder

The Federal Court has rejected the application for a retrial and review of former police commando Azilah Hadri's conviction for the 2006 murder of Mongolian citizen Altantuya Shaaribuu.

The Chief Judge says the case had no exceptional circumstances to allow for review.

Azilah was given the death sentence in 2015.
