Sports and recreational sector allowed to resume next month

Starting next month, the sports and recreational sector will be allowed to reopen, except for areas placed under the Enhanced MCO.

The Senior Minister for Security says local sports tournaments in Recovery MCO areas are allowed with an audience capacity of 10% or a maximum of 4,000 people.

This comes after the conditional MCO was extended until the end of the year in Selangor, KL, Sabah and Seremban and Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan.

Malaysia breached the 90,000 mark in the number of Covid-19 infections, after the Health Ministry reported 1,683 new cases yesterday.

The Klang Valley reported the highest number of cases, followed by Sabah and Negeri Sembilan.

It was the first time no new deaths were reported since December 4 keeping the death toll at 432.
