Local uni students to return to campuses

Starting next March, local students will be allowed to return to their university campuses in stages.

The Higher Education Ministry says students from COVID-19 red zones must arrive earlier to ensure that they are free from the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, student intake for unis in Sabah and Sarawak will be subject to state government guidelines.

Over 2,500 new COVID-19 cases

Malaysia has reported yet another surge in COVID-19 cases, with 2,525 new infections today.

Almost half of which were detected in Selangor, while Sabah recorded 299 cases, and Melaka with 239.

Meanwhile, eight more patients have died due to the virus, raising the death toll to 471.

Only 8.5% foreign workers underwent SOCSO COVID-19 testing

Employers have been urged to get their foreign workers tested for COVID-19 at participating healthcare providers.

This, as SOCSO says only 8.5% of these workers have undergone testing in six states, as of earlier this week.

It adds that the government's decision to enforce mandatory screening on foreign workers is a crucial move to contain the country's COVID-19 outbreak.
