Frontliners and others in high-risk groups, including those with chronic diseases will be vaccinated first.

The Health Ministry adds that the second phase of immunisation will begin with the arrival of the second batch of vaccines in April and May.

All in all, the government plans to offer the vaccine for free to 80 percent of the population.

This, as the number of new Covid-19 recoveries exceeded new cases yesterday.

There were 3,321 recoveries registered compared to 2,295 new infections.

Yesterday also saw nine fatalities, bringing the overall death toll in the country to 483.
