Malaysia will ratify the Paris Agreement on climate change this week
The Natural Resources and Environment Ministry says the Cabinet has given it the go-ahead to do so, and all govt ministries and agencies have agreed to abide by the agreement.
The Paris agreement sets in motion a process to cut greenhouse emissions, in order to limit global warming to only 1.5 or 2 degrees Celsius.
Malaysia has pledged to cut greenhouse emissions by 45 percent by 2030, and has already introduced a number of measures to ensure it meets this target.
