JPJ to conduct festive season operation

The JPJ is conducting a major road safety operation in light of the upcoming festive season. 

Ops Jalan will commence from Christmas Eve this Saturday until Boxing Day on Monday, as well as from December 30th until January 2nd. 

Motorists caught committing traffic offences during this period will be slapped with a 300 ringgit compound which cannot be appealed or reduced. 

It says the rules will be enforced strictly, as an average of 19 people die on Malaysian roads a day.
