7 days of morning following Sarawak CM's passing

Sarawak has declared 7 days of mourning, following the passing of Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem. 

Deputy chief minister Datuk Abang Johari Openg says flags will be flown at half-mast for the duration.

He also announced a special day off tomorrow, for Sarawakians to pay their last respects. 

Tan Sri Adenan passed away from heart complications at the Sarawak General Hospital Heart Centre at 1.20pm this afternoon.

Meanwhile, leaders from both sides of the political divide have taken to social media to express their condolences over his unexpected death.

PM Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak says Malaysia has lost a capable leader, while Yang di- Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud said he served the state with sincerity.

Tributes also poured in from Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali and DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang.
