Bleaching agent in flour is not harmful

The use of bleaching agent, benzoyl peroxide in flour is not harmful.
The Health Ministry says the food additive has been certified safe by various international organisations, if it is used within certain limits.
In Malaysia, the permissible level of benzoyl peroxide in flour is not more than 50mg per kilo.
This, after a consumer group urged people to avoid buying wheat flour that contains benzoyl peroxide, saying it's harmful to health.
