Kelantan flood damage hits RM30mil

Jan 27, 2017

The floods caused an estimated 30 million ringgit in damage to infrastructure in Kelantan.

The Rural and Regional Development Ministry says the sum is higher than earlier estimates, as the flood proved to be bigger than last year's.

This, as the National Disaster Management Agency said some 330 people are still seeking shelter at flood evacuation centres in the state.

Meanwhile, Pahang has the highest number of flood evacuees, at 7,100, while another 6,500 people are currently displaced in Johor.

A total of 900 people are still housed at evacuation centres in Perak, Selangor and Sabah.
