NUTP wants strict vetting for school wardens

Apr 24, 2017

The National Union of the Teaching Profession wants strict vetting for school wardens, to make sure they are fit for the job.

The NUTP President told the Malay Mail, the background checks for wardens should be just as strict as that for teachers.

It was commenting on a case in Johor, in which an assistant warden allegedly assaulted an 11-year-old pupil with a rubber hose, resulting in both his legs being amputated.

Investigations have since revealed that the suspect had previous conviction for theft.
