SUHAKAM has again called for corporal punishment in schools to be scrapped.

Apr 27, 2017

SUHAKAM has again called for corporal punishment in schools to be scrapped.

This, following the death of an 11 year old boy, who was ALLEGEDLY abused by an assistant warden at a religious school in Kota Tinggi.

SUHAKAM says corporal punishment is a violation of a child's rights, as it constitutes violence that causes physical and mental harm.

Separately, the Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation is calling for a special commission to investigate the boy's death.
