More people have stepped up to support the pilot of Air Asia X flight D 7237.

Jun 28, 2017

More people have stepped up to support the pilot of Air Asia X flight D 7237.

The plane had to turn back to Perth on Sunday, after it suffered engine problems 90 minutes into the flight to KL and started to vibrate.

The pilot decided to turn the plane around and reassured passengers, but was slammed for saying they can pray for their safety if they want to.

A passenger has defended the pilot in a viral Facebook post, saying he was very professional and reassuring.

The Transport Minister has also lauded the pilot and crew for handlinging the emergency professionally and bravely.

The plane is expected to be grounded in Australia for several months as authorities investigate it.
