Malaysia has not been affected by the Not Petya cyber attack, YET.
The National Security Council is on high alert amid a potential attack.
However, it has not received any reports in the country so far.
Malaysians have been warned to update their Windows operating system and anti-virus software.
You should also make copies of important files and NOT open suspicious emails.
The virus is worse than last month's devastating Wannacry bug.
Experts shut down Wannacry with a kill switch fairly quickly, but have yet to find a way around "Not Petya" 2 days into the attack.
The virus is demanding a 300 dollar bitcoin ransom to unlock computers, but a cybersecurity company from the UAE has warned this could be a lie.
It says the bug was designed to wipe computers outright, and no amount of money can bring your data back.
Some people have been paying the ransom, but German email company Posteo put a stop to it by blocking the email address the hackers were using to confirm payments.
Microsoft has traced the initial attack to a Ukrainian company's tax accounting software called M.E. Doc.
But the person or group behind the attack remains a mystery.
