Jail time maybe !

Aug 28, 2017

Owners of premises destroyed in electrical fires may soon face a fine and even JAIL time!

The Energy Commission says this will be the case, if its found that the fires were caused by illegal wiring extensions.

The commission told the NST, it will soon fully enforce the relevant law in illegal extensions, which allows for a maximum fine of 10 thousand ringgit and 2 years in prison.

It will also step up its inspections on installations in the peninsular and Sabah, with a focus on private homeowners.
