Flood numbers in Penang have gone up again to 5,800, following a night of heavy rain.

More than half of them are in Seberang Perai Utara.

The floods are reportedly the worst the state has ever seen, but things may get worse.

The MET Department has forecast another 7 days of heavy rain for the state, and also Kedah, Perlis and Perak.

The number of flood evacuees in Kedah has also increased to 3,700, while things are stable in Perak with 150 still at relief centres.
