NUTP wants the Edu Ministry to issue a new circular on the permitted punishments for misbehaving students.

Dec 28, 2017

The National Union of the Teaching Profession wants the Education Ministry to issue a new circular on the permitted punishments for misbehaving students.

It says it's time to review Professional Circular No. 8, which lists down the types of punishments that cannot be inficted on students.

This is so teachers and parents will understand the boundaries.

This comes after a teacher in Negeri Sembilan was hauled to court for slapping a student who was skipping class and sniffing glue.
