About 1,100 observers will watch over GE14.

Apr 11, 2018

About 1,100 observers will watch over GE14.

Malaysia has invited observers from 14 countries, while 14 local NGOs and university representatives will also be observing on 9th May.

Meanwhile, the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health has urged employers to ensure the safety of employees who have to work on Election Day.

Members of the media will be out covering polling centres and NIOSH is concerned they'll be exposed to untoward incidents such as stone throwing.

Mw, Selangor has the highest number of registered voters for GE14, followed by Johor and Perak.

Sarawak came in 4th with about 1.2 million, but community leaders in the state say the 9th May election date would be a logistical nightmare for voters in rural areas.

Some employers have taken steps to make things easier for their workers by announcing a day off...

...while a Sarawakian employer has offered free flight tickets and a 300 ringgit per day allowance for employees from Sabah and Sarawak
