We can look forward to regular updates from the Prime Minister. 

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has promised to give weekly press confrences, to keep the media and the public informed on the latest developments. 

He adds that its important that news comes regularly and directly from the government, to avoid people making up stories.

Meanwhile, in his press conference after chairing the first Cabinet meeting yesterday, Tun M announced that ministers will be taking a 10 percent pay cut, while the Land Public Transport Commission and Department of Special Affairs will be abolished.
