What to expect at the Dewan Negara today

7 new senators and a returning senator will be sworn in at the Dewan Negara today with Johor DAP chairman Liew Chin Tong and Hindraf chairman P. Waytha Moorthy among them.

Some of them are expected to be sworn in as ministers and deputy ministers too, as per the PM's promise. 

Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad earlier said another 3 ministers can only be appointed after they're sworn in as Senators.

Tun M is disappointed at the cold response at his idea for a 2nd national car.

Man suffers serious injuries while trying to protect wife

A man suffered serious injuries while trying to protect his wife from a parang-wielding robber in PJ, Selangor yesterday.

The suspect had robbed a convenience store and tried to steal the couple's car, and the husband fought him off. 

The robber won and drove off with the man's wife, but later released her.
