Lower House Prices Soon?

House prices are expected to drop between 5% and 10%  in the future as basic building materials and construction services will be exempted from the SST.

They were subjected to GST before this.

However, the Housing and Local Govt Ministry warned not all homes will be cheaper as the value also depends on the price of land. 


Tax Cuts In Store for NGO's

Certain charities and NGOs that actively carry out welfare programmes may enjoy tax cuts of up to 7% under Budget 2019. 

While saying this, the Finance Minister also urged charity organisations to hold more welfare programmes as the govt is facing financial constraints. 

Budget 2019 will be tabled on 2nd November.


Childminders Not Up To Standard

About 80% of the childminders for babies and toddlers do not meet the government's minimum qualifications. 

The DPM said this has led to a serious shortage of nurseries in Malaysia. 

The country needs about 38,000 nurseries, but the government's database only shows about 4,300.


Jho Low's Plane Could Be Seized Next

They have his boat, now they want his plane. 

The PM said the government is eyeing a private jet belonging to Jho Low.

RFID Trials On 16 Highways

JPJ has named 16 highways in the Klang Valley where the RFID system will be tested out next month, ahead of the full launch next year. 

The highways include KL-Karak, Damansara-Puchong and the Maju Expressway.
