EC to provide 29 more polling streams for the upcoming Balakong state seat by-election 

The Election Commission will provide 29 more polling streams for the Balakong state seat by-election on Sept 8th.

This means there are a total of 129 streams at the 17 polling stations while polling hours has also been extended by 30 minutes to 5.30 pm

Separately, the nomination for the Balakong and Seri Setia by-elections will begin simultaneously at 9am today.

Candidates have an hour to submit their nomination papers, after which the returning officers will announce the names of the candidates contesting the by-elections.

MINDEF mobilises assets to carry out cloud seeding

The Defence Ministry has mobilised its assets to carry out cloud seeding to address the hot and hazy conditions in several parts of the country.

RMAF aircrafts were scrambled to locate suitable clouds in the Selangor and Perak airspace for the cloud seeding efforts.
