Sugar prices to go down
Sugar will be 10 sen cheaper, come Sept 1st.

The Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry says the ceiling price of course granulated sugar will be set at 2 ringgit 85 sen per kilogram.
Meanwhile the new price for fine granulated sugar is at 2 ringgit 95 sen per kilo.
Its minister hopes that this will lead to lower food and drinks prices.
However he says this shouldn't be seen as an encouragement for people to increase their sugar intake - as it can cause health problems like diabetes.
Private doctors fees could go up.
There's a chance that private doctors fees COULD go up, by between 30 and 125 ringgit.
The Health Ministry says it's looking to rase the consultation fees at private clinics and hospitals, as they've not been revised for nearly 12 years.
Customs Dept: we are still fine-tuning the list.
The proposed rates for the SST and the full list of tax-exempt items are expected to be confirmed in the next two days.

Meanwhile, the Finance Minister no action will be taken against companies, who fail to register under SST by September 1st, IF they have a good reason.
Some 5,000 companies have yet to register under SST.

Penang DAP secretary, Lim Hui Ying who is also the sister of the Finance Minister, has been sworn in as a Senator in the Dewan Negara.
She is among 12 new Senators from Pakatan Harapan and Parti Warisan Sabah.
And a toddler in Sandakan, Sabah had to be rescued by firemen this morning, after he became stuck inside a washing machine!
