EPF warns members to ignore viral message
The EPF has warned its members to ignore a viral message claiming that contributors who worked between 1990 and this year are entitled to a 6,000 ringgit incentive.

It says it never made such a message.
The EPF also pointed out that the message also has a link which takes you to a fake website, which is believed to be an attempt to steal your personal details.
Hunger Strike !
8 people detained under SOSMA have been on a hunger strike since yesterday at the Penang Prison, because they want to be allowed bail.

An NGO says in addition to food, the eight detainees are also refusing their medication.
They have various diseases including cancer, HIV, diabetes, hypertension and asthma.
Besides bail, the detainees also want a clear commitment from the govt regarding the future of Sosma.

Former MIC vice-president Tan Sri S. Balakrishnan has claimed trial at the Sessions Court in JB to two counts of money laundering amounting to 6 million ringgit.
The 64-year-old pleaded NOT guilty to both offences, which were comitted in 2012 and 2013.

Motorists on the MEX highway will NOT have to pay toll on National Day.

And, a new research in China has found that air pollution can reduce people's intelligence!
The study revealed that high pollution levels lead to significant drops in test scores in subjects like language and arithmetic.
Those breathing unsafe air, on average, lose the equivalent of a year's worth of education due to harmful toxins.
The researchers found that the effect is worse for the elderly, especially those over the age of 64.
Also at a higher risk are men, and for those with low education.
