Ah Jib Gor pleads not guilty

Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has been slapped with 25 charges by the police and MACC, related to the receipt, use and transfer of 2.6 billion ringgit allegedly from 1MDB.

He pleaded NOT guilty to all charges, namely 21 counts of money laundering and 4 abuse of power charges.

This is the former PM's 3rd court appearance in 3 months. 

In July, Najib claimed trial on 4 counts of criminal breach of trust and abuse of power linked to SRC International. 

While last month, he was charged with three counts of money-laundering.

EC sets aside 3.6 million ringgit to organise PD by-election

The Election Commision has set aside 3.6 million ringgit to organise the Port Dickson by-election.

It also confirmed that nomination day falls on 29 September, while voters will cast their ballots 2 weeks later, on October 13th. 

The parliamentary seat fell vacant after incumbent Datuk Danyal Balagopal Abdullah resigned, to make way for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to contest.

In other news:

25 people have now died of alcohol poisoning in the Peninsular. 

This, after two deaths were reported in Perak - the first cases reported outside the Klang Valley.
