Straws made from biodegradable material or paper will be provided as alternatives.
However, exemptions will be given to the handicapped or ill, who need straws and plastic items in their daily lives.
Employers Urged to Monitor Foreign Workers
Employers need to keep a closer eye on their foreign workers, as they tend to go for cheap alcohol or even make their own brew.
This comes after a spate of alcohol poisoning killed about 30 people in the Peninsular, with most of the victims foreign workers.

The Human Resources Minister has asked employers to conduct checks where their workers live, for safety purposes.
