The Customs Dept wants tougher penalties in place, to curb the sale of counterfeit alcohol and cigarettes.

It includes raising the minimum fine to 100 thousand ringgit AND caning.
This, as 45 people died of methanol poisoning recently, reportedly after drinking bootleg booze.

Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor has been arrested by the MACCD, after being questioned over her alleged role in the SRC International scandal.

Her arrest came after 5 hours of questioning by the agency.
Rosmah will be taken to the KL Sessions Court at 8am tomorrow, to face charges under money laundering laws.
Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak spent 3 hours at the Police Commercial Crimes Department's HQ, for questioning over 1MDBm before being allowed to leave.

The family of late Cradle Fund CEO Nazrin Hassan has confirmed that Nazrin's remains is expected to be exhumed next Monday.
Nazrin's elder brother requested for a second autopsy, to help authorities investigate his death.
Nazrin died in a house fire in June, but the case was later reclassified as murder amid possible elements of foul play.
