The govt hopes to complete the sale of the super yacht, the Equanimity by the end of the year.

This, after the KL High Court has approved Putrajaya's bid to appoint a central broker and appraiser to prepare for the boat's sale. 

Malaysia recently took possession of the seized yacht, which was allegedly bought using funds stolen from 1MDB. 

Tun M to help campaign for DSAI

PM Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says he will help campaign for Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim next Monday, for the Port Dickson by-election.

He hopes this will put to rest any lingering rumours that he has a quarrel with Anwar.

The Msian Bar is against a proposal to cane people convicted of corruption. 

It says, such punishments have no place in modern society, and it pointed out that such a punishment simply does NOT deter people from committing crime. 

The MACC's chief commissioner recently suggested heavier punishments to deter corruption, including bigger fines and caning.

Ireland has passed a landmark bill that its govt hopes will help curb binge-drinking.
