The Education Ministry will be trying out a new campaign, to create environmental awareness among school students.

The pilot project, which will involve programs like turning food waste into compost, will start with schools in Johor's Simpang Renggam disctrict before being expanded nationwide.

Separately, the Ministry is warning that any teachers or school staff found to be involved in sexual misconduct cases face stern action, as it has a zero-tolerance approach to such matters.
The comments come following last week's case in Kepala Batas, where a school principal was remanded for allegedly sodomizing two students.
