2,300 nomination papers received for GE14

The Election Commission received over 2,300 nomination forms for GE14, during yesterday's nomination day. 

Its chairman says of the total, 687 forms were for the country's 222 parliamentary seats and remainder were for 505 state seats.

11 forms were rejected for various reasons, involving three parliamentary seats and eight state seats.

The oldest candidate contesting a parliamentary seat is 92 years of age, while the oldest person contesting a state seat is 78. 

MW, the youngest parliamentary cadidate is 22 years, while it;s 23 years for a state contestant.
