Authorities declare KLIA 2 safe
Feb 26, 2017
The authorities have declared KLIA 2 a safe place, after carrying out a sweep for toxic materials at the airport.
This, following the murder of Kim Jong-nam there earlier this month, with the use of the VX nerve agent.
The cops say they've covered all areas and locations related to the case and found KLIA 2 free from any contamination of hazardous materials.
Those involved in the operation were the Police Forensic Department, the Fire and Rescue Department and the Atomic Energy Licensing Board.
Meanwhile, the police have taken samples from a condominium in Jalan Klang Lama, that's believed to have been rented by 4 suspects who fled Malaysia on the day of the murder.
It's reportedly part of the health procedure in the probe and the samples will be sent to the Chemistry Department for analysis.
This, as the police are also waiting for a report from the Chemistry Department to determine if there were any other chemicals besides the VX nerve agent that were used in the murder.
