Kim Jong-nam's murder suspects could have been given antidotes
Feb 26, 2017
The police are exploring the possibility that the 2 female suspects in the murder of Kim Jong-nam were given antidotes to the VX nerve agent before carrying out the assassination.
However, the cops say tests will have to be done first to ascertain if that was actually what happened.
This, after questions were raised on how the women managed to survive using their hands to handle the highly-potent chemical.
The police add that they're also still trying to establish whether the VX nerve agent was manufactured locally or smuggled into Malaysia.
Meanwhile, both the Vietnamese woman and the Indonesian woman arrested over the murder, have told officials from their respective countries that they thought they were taking part in a prank.
The Indonesian woman claims she was hired by 2 men, who paid her 400 ringgit, to undertake the task for a reality show.
She also said she did not know that the liquid she was given to swab on Jong-nam's face was poisonous, adding that she thought it was baby oil.
