Talks to be held with parents and teachers to find out why students like late night activities

Feb 22, 2017

The government will hold discussions with parents and teachers, to identify why students prefer late night activities.

The Education Ministry says it hopes understanding the issue will help it prevent a recurrence of the Johor Bahru cycling tragedy.

However, it clarified it has no plans to add extra-curricular activities in schools to ensure students do not indulge in late night activities.

Meanwhile, the Kedah government has suggested for local authorities to include bicycle and pedestrian lanes for every new landscape project in the state.

This, after 8 teenagers were killed and another 8 were injured in the cycling incident in Johor Bahru.
