Kim Jong-nam's body identified through one of his children's DNA

Mar 15, 2017

The Deputy Prime Minister has confirmed, that police identified the body of Kim Jong-nam, based on a DNA sample from one of the deceased's children.

Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi says the sample was obtained via forensic procedures.

It was earlier reported that Japan could have provided DNA data to Malaysian authorities, as Jong-nam was once detained in Tokyo in 2001.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Prime Minister says the government is also open to having an international inquiry look into the Kim Jong-nam murder case.
