Runway at KLIA closed until further notice

May 02, 2017

A runway at the KL International Airport has been closed until further notice, after a Malaysia Airlines plane's tyres deflated while landing this morning.

The airline says the plane landed safely, with passengers and crew transported to the terminal by bus.

An investigation is now underway into the cause of the incident.

Separately, Malaysia Airlines has reached a settlement with an Australian family, who lost four family members on board flight MH17 when it was shot down over Ukraine three years ago.

They are the first Australian family to reach a settlement with the airline.
