Datuks remanded over graft and abuse of power

Jun 07, 2017

Six people, including four Datuks, have been remanded for five days over allegations of graft and abuse of power.

All held top positions in a government-linked company.

The suspects were all detained in a sting operation in several areas around the Klang Valley yesterday.

Separately, the recent MACC crackdown on the police racket offering protection to illegal gambling dens in Melaka, appears to be working.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron says many of these illegal dens have now gone quiet since the crackdown.

The MACC operation recently saw several high-ranking police officers in the state arrested, for allegedly offering protection to vice dens.
