Maintenance work on substation was supposed to be carried out in September

Maintenance work at the Bukit Badong substation that will affect water supply to some 3.9 million people, was supposed to be carried out in September, not today.

TNB says it had scheduled the work on 23rd September, but delayed plans due to insistence by Selangor water companies and the National Water Services Commission.

The 16-hour urgent maintenance work to be carried out today will affect water supply to the Klang Valley for 6 days, up til Christmas Eve, which has had many consumers up in arms.

However, TNB says the work cannot be delayed any longer as there is a risk of a flashover, which could cause damages that would take weeks to repair.
