3 Terengganu districts put on red alert for 2nd wave of floods

Dec 07, 2017

3 districts in Terengganu have been put on red alert for a 2nd wave of floods, expected to strike today.

Residents in Kuala Nerus, Besut and Kemaman have been warned of high tides and continuous heavy rain.

An amber alert for flash floods in the areas is also in place until Sunday.

This, as Terengganu authorities will patrol high-risk coastal areas every 4 hours to keep members of the public away, amid fears of flooding due to the high tide phenomena.

Among the identified areas are Batu Buruk Beach in Kuala Terengganu, Rusila Beach in Marang, Kuala Besut and Kuala Kemaman.
