Met Department denies rumours of typhoon hitting Sabah

The Met Department has denied social media rumours, that Sabah is about to be hit by a typhoon.
It clarified that the storm, which is currently east of the Philippines, is actually moving away from Sabah.
The tail-end of the storm however, has led to heavy rain, with the state government currently monitoring the situation closely.
This, as 182 people were forced to seek shelter at flood evacuation centres in Kota Belud.
